Priya Bathija is thankful to the city of Mumbai as she completes a seven year professional journey

Priya Bathija has had a fabulous journey of seven long years in Mumbai and is thankful to the ‘City of Dreams’ for giving her all the work and recognition. Going down the memory lane, Priya shares her memories with Tellychakkar.com, “It has been a brilliant journey on the whole. I have been part of nearly 18-19 television shows, five of which were main lead roles. I had not ventured into commercial ads till the time I did Imagine’s Dhwarkadheesh. However, in a span of just one and half years, I have done nearly 29 ads and that is an achievement in itself.” Talking of her stint in ads, she states, “I am seen nowadays on every channel, during breaks (smiles). What more can I ask for? I am now considered as the ‘Ad Queen’ and my friends do wonder how I managed to strike a great connect in the ad world by shooting so many commercials in quick time.” On her favourite work when it comes to ads, she avers, “I loved shooting for the Johnson and Johnson Baby Oil ad. Also the one which I shot with Anurag Kashyap was a great learning curve. I also have few print ads to my credit and I am enjoying this phase of life.” Priya who came to the limelight on TV with her lead role in Sony TV’s Khwaish wants to get back to television. “Yes, I would love to be back on TV. But I am waiting for some great role to come my way. I want to do a travelling or a youth-based show. Also, there is a serial that comes on Pakistan TV titled Humsafar. It is a very lovely show, and I aspire to take up a project like this.” Priya (who was earlier married to actor Jatin Shah after which they went through divorce) is now concentrating on her work. However, she plans to marry and get settled in a couple of years. “My parents have been insisting me to get married. I will surely take the path, but there is no hurry. Work is priority right now.” Priya and Jatin share a cordial relationship when they bump into each other at social gatherings. “We happen to meet up at look-tests, functions and gatherings. We cordially greet each other.” Priya is gung-ho about her upcoming movie right now. However, she is waiting for the right time to talk on it. “I can only say that I have done a movie. I will talk to you very soon on the same,” said the actor before taking leave. We wish you all the very best Priya.
