MUMBAI:City Of Dreams season 3 is one of the most awaited upcoming OTT series. The series stars Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat, Eijaz Khan, Rannvijay Singha and Sachin Pilgaonkar.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Rannvijay Singha and spoke to him about the series, his character in it and more...
How excited or nervous are you for City of Dreams 3?
I am never nervous because I have come to the conclusion that many people who are at the top of their game and work really hard, cannot guarantee success. So, there’s no need to be nervous. For me, if you had a good time shooting it, had good experiences, made memories with your crew, directors and fellow actors, you don’t have to be nervous. I am not saying that it’s guaranteed to be successful. As an actor, you have done your job and you do your job to have resources to take care of your family and yourself. So, I am very clear with that. Yes, I am very excited for it. This is one of the first times when I am jumping in after two seasons of something that has already done well. So, I am just here to enjoy the ride and go with the flow. The character I am playing is also very interesting. It’s nothing that I have played before. I am excited to see how it is received.
In the trailer, we don’t get to know much about your character. So, tell us something about your role in the series.
There are a few things that happen in a democracy. There are political parties and people vote. The communication between the people and the political parties and leaders happen through the media. So, that’s a very important vertical of abdemocratic nation where people can tell you how they feel and where leaders and political parties can make you aware of what their ideas and agendas are. Therefore, a person who controls the media has a very important position, and that’s the role I was offered. If that person has his own agenda and has his own intentions, that complicates the situation for the political parties and the other people involved. That’s why it’s interesting. The character is unlike who I am in real life.
The first two seasons of the series are already out and other actors have already left a mark with their performance in it. So, do you feel a pressure that now as I am entering the series, I also have to make a mark?
I am not like that. I don’t feel that I have to make a mark. It’s very simple. I work for people in my life like my family, friends and some people who look up to me. If my work is appreciated, that's great. But, what I can control is who I am on set, what I can control myself as a human being and I make sure that I am excelling what I do. If I excel at that, I have done my job. I am not one of those guys who is like ‘oh I have to make a mark’. I also don't want an award; I just want to enjoy. Anybody who has employed me should have fun while I am there and it should be memorable; that’s what I concentrate on.
City of Dreams 3 is slated to premiere on 26th May 2023.
