Sehban Azim, last seen in Star One’s Dill Mill Gayye as Dr Yuvraaj follows a proper gym routine to keep himself fit. We spoke to him to know more about his diet and fitness regime…
Personal fitness mantra: Work out on a daily basis, have my meals on time and avoid oily food.
Diet mantra: Eat what I like but in moderation.
Exercise routine: I go to the gym everyday for an hour to two hours. Alternate
between cardio and weight training.
Is food the elixir of life? Any day! A meal without fish is incomplete for me.
Are you a foodie? Absolutely, though I control my eating habits.
Are you a vegetarian or non-vegetarian? Non vegetarian
Favourite cuisine: Thai and Chinese. Though there are days when I crave for simple home cooked dal chawal.
Favourite dish: Any form of fish, preferably grilled.
Favourite restaurant: I enjoy exploring new places and then eat there till I get bored. All time favourties are Jai Hind in Bandra for fish, and Mainland China. I have also started liking Banana Leaf for their curd rice.
A must on my breakfast table: Juice, muesli and eggs.
Sugar or sugar-free for my tea/coffee... Sugar and black coffee.
Lunch generally consists of… Nothing specific! It can be anything served on the sets or ordered from outside. It must consist of one grilled non-vegetarian item.
Dinner generally consists of… Whatever is available!
Dessert delights… Don't have much of a sweet tooth, though I love to dig into traditional Indian delights like kheer or phirni, specially the one my mom makes back at home.
One thing I can’t resist… Sushi
My favourite drink (non-alcoholic)… Fresh juice
My favourite drink (alcoholic)… I don't drink.
At parties I have… A juice and whatever is available.
Most unusual dish I've tasted… Nothing till yet.
Experiment with food… Regularly as I love to try new eating places be it a roadside vendor or a branded restaurant.
On the streets, I love to have… Vada Pav, Sev Puri ... Both Delhi and Mumbai offer amazing street food.
Do you cook? Yes. As I am on a break, I have been cooking for my friends regularly over FIFA matches.
Favourite recipe: I have my own dal recipe which my friends usually demand when they come home.
Ingredients:
One cup masoor dal
Onions, sliced
Garlic cloves
Two tablespoons ghee
Two teaspoons jeera
3-4 red chillis
Three tea spoons garam masala
Salt to taste
Two teaspoons turmeric powder
Coriander to garnish
Method:
Take one cup of masoor dal.
Pressure cook with salt and haldi. In a frying pan heat desi ghee and make a special tadka (I add three separate tadkas) which comprises of firstly jeera, secondly sliced onion and garlic together and thirdly, dried red chilli tadka. Add boiled dal and simmer. Garnish with coriander and sprinkle garam masala for aroma.
