MUMBAI :Sharib Hashmi started his career with playing small roles in multiple movies, but his big break was Filmistaan that got him into the limelight. He has starred in many films and OTT series till now and has proved his mettle as an actor.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Sharib and when asked when he decided to become an actor, he said, “In my childhood itself I had thought that I would become a hero or an actor. But, later when I grew up, I decided that I don’t want to do acting as I felt I won’t get any chance. So, I started as an assistant director in films, and later started writing. When I used to write sketch comedies and narrate it to my director, he used to be like ‘you are good at it, you only should do it’. So, that’s how acting started for me. I did MTV Bakra a lot of times, and I would feel very happy to shoot it. Even at that time I didn’t realize that this is my calling.”
“I had responsibilities on me; I was married and had a kid, so I used to think why should I now start a new career? But, at the age of 33, I felt that I should give acting a full-fledged chance; I won’t regret later that I didn’t even try to fulfill my dreams. So, at the age of 33 I decided to pursue acting and quit my job, and I started giving auditions,” the actor added.
Sharib will next be seen in Tarla which is slated to premiere on Zee5 tomorrow.
