MUMBAI: Chloe Qureshi, who is known to be the first pregnant Mrs India contestant in the history of beauty pageants, gave birth to a baby boy in her car.
Her husband, Aslam Qureshi was the one who assisted her with the birth.
Aslam and Chloe were on their way to their birthing centre and their beautiful son was born mid journey; something they didn't expect as every birth is different and what they experienced in their 1st birth with 23 hours of labour , their 2nd baby came into the world sooner than they expected and miraculously gave them a never to be forgotten divine experience of birthing their child all by themselves.
Earlier speaking of their first born, Chloe and Aslam had birth their baby girl Aayatt in a natural home, Water Birth ; which was also a unique birthing experience.
Chloe exclusively spoke to TellyChakkar about the experience of delivering her baby boy in the car.
She said ," On 12th of September 2023, I began to have my contractions which came in the intervals of 20 mins or so at 3.30am. Each contraction lasted for 30 - 40 seconds and wasn't long but was definitely sharp and this kept me wondering if I was in active or passive labour. After some time the contractions stopped and I thought I would give birth later that evening, but in an hour the contractions came back in shorter intervals of every five to seven minutes and this time they were sharp and acute.
We decided to leave to our birthing centre immediately with our midwife being informed that we were on the way .
By the time I reached the door of my house I realised I was in extreme active labour and was dreading the car drive to the birthing centre, but at no point of time Aslam and I expected the birth of our baby boy to happen in the car"
"It was no less than a movie scene, I was extremely uncomfortable sitting down in the car going through my contractions, our friend Melwyn D'Souza - Pranic Healer and our spiritual guide and mentor was driving the car, Aslam and I were sitting at the back seat dreading the thirty minute drive. Melwyn had to drive very slowly and I was sweating profusely in extremely active labour, counting the minutes to reach our midwife Chloe.
She further said, " Thank God for birth class and for preparing for labour and during birth class she remembers her Midwife had mentioned that on their way to the birthing centre if I get uncomfortable sitting in the car she had informed that I could sit in a position by holding the seat of the car facing backwards and that would give me some relief during contracting"
My husband was the one who helped me keep calm. In about 10 minutes into the drive, I realised my baby was ready to come into this world, I informed Aslam and as soon as he checked he realised that the baby is coming into the world, he could see the crowning of the head of the baby"
Chloe said "Since Aslam came with me for every birth class and was taught the process of birthing he took charge and was focussed and in position ready to take the baby once I pushed baby out, the minute he saw the crowning of the head of the baby he kept asking me to push whilst contracting and breathe while not and in no time our little baby boy popped out into his hands ever so beautifully.
Once the baby was in my husband's hands, he immediately checked all baby's vital his skin, colour, breathing and his umbilical cord and the minute he found out everything was fine he pulled out a towel and wrapped the baby and put him around my arms"
He then checked on me and the minute he realised that I was relaxed and in good health he asked our friend Melwyn to drive the car faster and get to our birthing centre immediately.

We were blessed to have a natural physiological birth with no medical assistance or intervention needed.
We are sure our baby is going to be a traveller.", laughed Chloe Qureshi, as he was born in the middle of the road in a car in Goa.
Through TellyChakkar, Chloe mentioned how she wants to tell the story of the importance of birthing class to all women and the importance of midwifery and midwives in our country and all mamas must be educated about their birth process.
She said " Most women associate giving birth with fear because of the pain they go through. I just want to share that childbirth is very beautiful and the experience of giving birth is very humbling.
All women have the right to be informed about birth. Hence, birthing and labour class should be given to all women, so as to explain them and make them understand the process of giving birth. They should also know that wherever they are giving birth, they can have their partner beside them, it's their right, This is my motive behind telling the story".
She further said "Being informed about birth is important for every woman, birthing should be treated with respect and dignity as it is a natural process.
As women, all of our bodies are built to endure the pain to deliver our beautiful babies and every woman can do it, furthermore its one's individual choice and I respect that.
Well, there is no doubt that Chloe after sharing this experience of her birth has become a voice for so many women who fear giving birth and she also speaks about how educating oneself about birthing and its process is important in today's day and age.
