However, lately, the actress has been missing in action and was seen only in a few films. After a long while, she interacted with the media at the promo event of her upcoming film, Month of Madhu.

When Swathi took the stage, she was asked about her rumoured divorce with husband Vikas Vasu. The actress refused to open up about her personal life and said that it was irrelevant.

Swathi got married in 2018 to her boyfriend Vikas, a pilot from Kerala. Lately, there have been many rumours that all is not well between Swathi and Vikas and that the couple are looking to get a divorce.

However, Swathi said, “Nenu ivva (I won’t comment). I started my career at 16, and I didn’t know how it would have been if social media existed back then. They would have played football with my life with all these handles. I didn’t know how to conduct myself back then. But, now, I have a set of rules as a professional actor. It is irrelevant. I will not say anything about my personal life. So, I choose not to answer your question.”

Director-writer Harish Shankar praised her reply on Twitter. He wrote, “Bravo Swathi. Keep it up.”

Here’s the video:

Swathi is well-known in the Tamil industry for her role in Sasikumar’s debut film, Subramaniapuram. The film was also Swathi’s debut as an actor. She has acted in films like Ashta Chamma, Kalavaramaye Madilo, and Poraali.
