MUMBAI: Looks like things are not that sour between actors Rashmika Mandanna and Rakshit Shetty, who were briefly engaged before the Animal actor decided to call it off.
While fans of Rakshit keep criticising Rashmika on social media, the two stars continue to be on talking terms according to the 777 Charlie star. In a recent interview, the actor said that they text each other once in a while.
Rakshit was asked about the current bond between Rashmika, Rishab Shetty (of Kantara fame), and him. To add context to the question, Rashmika made her acting debut with Rishab’s directorial venture Kirk Party, which was produced by Rakshit, who also played the lead role in the film.
In an interview, Rashmika, while talking about her debut, referred to the production house of Kirk Party without mentioning the name. She gestured air quotes while talking about the production house, which was perceived as disrespectful by fans of Rishab and Rakshit.
On top of that, after the release of Kantara, which received worldwide acclaim, Rashmika was asked about the film. The actor revealed that she is yet to see the movie, which didn’t go well with Kannada cinema fans, who criticised her for being disloyal to the industry.
So, when Rakshit was asked about the current equation between the trio, he said, “Rishab… I am not sure (laughs). Me and Rashmika… we message each other once in a while. Not like a constant touch. But whenever my film releases, she wishes me, and I wish her whenever her film releases. On birthdays, we exchange wishes.”
He added, “She always had big dreams. She is achieving it. She should be given credit for that.”
On the work front, Rakshit Shetty is busy promoting his recent release Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A, which has received good reviews. Meanwhile, Rashmika is awaiting the release of Animal, Rainbow, and Pushpa: The Rule.
