Yuvraj Malhotra fans still cannot digest the fact that they wouldn't get to see their fave hero Karan in Zee TV's Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan anymore.
A month ago, we had reported that the actor was to bid adieu to Betiyaan. After which a reliable source had told us that Yuvraj was leaving as the channel wanted him to concentrate on his upcoming show Waaris.
A few days before the launch of Waaris, we met the actor on the sets and popped the 10 crore question – Was it the channel that asked you to leave Betiyaan for Waaris?

Yuvraj replies, "Yeah and… no. At the end of the day it's your decision. They wanted me to do both but I've always been comfortable doing one show. Actually, a few months ago I wasn't happy with the way my track was shaping up so, I requested the channel to either give me more space or else I'll have to quit the show."
Adding further, he says, "During that time, I had offers from other channels but I rejected all as I share a great rapport with Zee TV. After all, I need to look after my body too thus I always do one show."
It's never a wise move to quit a show when you're on top. Plus, that character becomes your identity. Fans still love him as Karan of Betiyaan. By taking a new show you always run the risk of losing your identity.
"Yes, I'm aware of that but my character (Shaurya) in Waaris has lot of variations attached to it. I couldn't find this in Betiyaan and thus I chose Waaris," the actor chides.
While most actors in Waaris refused to be drawn into the Sarkar v/s Waaris debate where it is alleged that Waaris has been inspired by the Ram Gopal directed Sarkar, Yuvraj unflinchingly says, "Just like Sarkar was inspired by Godfather, Waaris is inspired by Sarkar. However, it's similar in content but the story is different."
Hey Yuvi, we wonder can content differ from the story?
