Not many newcomers in the film industry are lucky enough to get an opportunity to be a part of a film that has talented stars like Konkana Sen Sharma and Vinay Pathak. But debutant actor Siddant Sakule is one who finds himself lucky.
This actor will be seen as Vinay and Konkana’s son in Anant Mahadaven’s upcoming film Gaur Hari Dastaan, which is based on the life of a freedom fighter who fights for recognition in his own country for 30 years, post India’s independence.
Interestingly, the actor will play a 17 year-old to a 49 old in the film which he believes to be a big challenge for him as a fresher.
As matter of fact, he goes on to tell us that had it not been for Konkana, his acting Guru now, performing in front of the camera would have been really difficult. “I remember my first day on the shoot when I was shivering. I had already given three takes and since our director Anant ji hadn’t got the right shot, he was yelling at me. But later Konkana called me and said that I must look at this as an opportunity and not as a first time task. Her words indeed helped me perform better. She was always there for me on the sets. I consider her as my Guru,” he relates.
However, the actor was a bit upset when he learnt that Konkana was to play his mother, as he confesses, “Though I wanted to act opposite her but not as her son, it did upset me when I learnt about me playing her son. But this was a huge opportunity for me and I couldn’t have missed it.”
We wish you all the luck, Siddant!!!
