Veteran TV actor Hiten Tejwani is not too happy with the decision of the younger lot of his Zee TV show Pavitra Rishta, namely Asha Negi (Purvi), Rithvik Dhanjani (Arjun), Shruti Kanwar (Ovi) and Shakti Arora (Onir), quitting the project due to the impending sequential leap.
Apparently, these actors don’t want to age on screen. “See I really don’t know what was the reason for their quitting and also what was written in their respective contracts as exit clauses. That is something only they or the production house (Balaji Telefims) and the channel will be privy too. So we can’t guess what was promised and what made them to put down their papers,” said Hiten.
Here Hiten added that very few new TV actors actually have privilege of having any say in their character formation or any other decision, as most simply have to toe the line as they have no other option.
“But personally speaking I don’t think it is right to quit a show due to changes in a script. As actors we should always follow what the creatives tell us. The exiting lot should also have taken into consideration that it’s Pavitra Rishta which gave them lots of name and fame. But I again stress that they all are mature people and if they have taken such a hard step, it must have been after a lot of due deliberation.”
Interestingly, Hiten had entered this show as Manav when Sushant Singh Rajput had quit TV for green pastures in cinema. Furthermore, the actor has no idea about how the show will proceed, given this new development.
“All I know is that a fat time jump is on the anvil.”
