With Sadhana’s death and the leap in Bidaai, a lot of things have changed Parul Chauhan aka Raagini. TellyChakkar spoke to the actress who seems to be the forerunner in the show if she feels pressurised due to the current track… Post Sadhana’s death a lot of things have changed, the story revolves around Raagini now, how do you feel? Honestly the story was always about Sadhana and Raagini. It doesn’t matter now the story is all about me. Yes, there are a lot of changes though. Do you feel some kind of pressure now that you are the centre of attention? Definitely, yes! Earlier the work would get divided between Sara (Khan, who played Sadhana) and me. Now, I have to shoot alone without Sadhana, feels weird. I am alone on the sets and undoubtedly, the pressure is on me. Apurva Agnihotri was recently introduced in the show. How is it working with him? He is a nice human being and a good actor. It feels nice to be working with him. I get to learn many things from him. There was a lot of outcry about his entry, people have loved your jodi with Kinshuk Mahajan, do you think this will work for the show? It takes a lot of a time to form an image in the minds of the audiences. Everything takes its own time. But it depends on how you develop that image, how you develop that chemistry so that viewers like you. I feel if you are doing complete justice to the role then people will definitely accept it. Kinshuk was a good friend and it was different shooting with him. But I am sure people will like it now too. How was your camaraderie with Kinshuk? Kinshuk was more like a friend. We used to do a lot of masti. We used to chitchat and it was a lot more fun working with him. Tell us about the change that Parul has undergone post the leap? There was a sea change from what it was in the beginning. Now I have a new look, there are new characters, new kids. It was all very different for me. I am playing a mother to kids, which was scary (laughs). I remember once after pack up I was wearing a skirt and top and one of the kids exclaimed looking at me and asked if I was their ‘mother’. That was when I realised how different things were going to be for me now. They refer to me as ‘mom’ and I keep telling them ‘don’t say that’. I find it funny. But they are good kids. I like spending time with them. How do you react to all the rumours about your link ups, quite a few of them now? Honestly, I am not scared of rumours. I know how I am and rumours are not going to change it. There were many rumours about me. I was first linked with Nishant. Nishant was a friend and I had danced with him earlier as well. So we knew each other. You know there is a point in everyone’s life when you want to think about the future and give it a try. We were at that stage. Humne socha ki agar aisa kucch hua toh dekh lenge. But I couldn’t see him more than a friend so that didn’t develop into a relationship as such. Next, I guess was Deepak who on the very first day met my mother and told her he wanted to adopt me. I used to call him ‘dadu’. There was obviously no affair there. I laugh when I think about the link up with Yashdeep (Nain). I am that kind of a person who wouldn’t hide anything from the media. I will let you guys know if I am ever in a relationship. It will be out in the open. I don’t think there is anything to hide in it. As of now, I am focusing on my career and Bidaai takes most of my time. No plans of settling down (smiles). Any Bollywood offers you are contemplating on? Last year, I had a good offer but since Bidaai was on I could not take it up. This year I have a very good role in hand and the best part is they are ready to wait. I was also offered the lead for a SAB TV comedy show, which I couldn’t take up for obvious reasons.
