MUMBAI : Zee TV's fiction offering - Ikk Kudi Punjab Di - is a high-octane drama that has captivated audiences with its powerful storyline and well-written characters. Based in Punjab, the show’s gripping narrative symbolizes strength and resilience. Ever since its first episode, the various ups and downs in Heer (Tanisha Mehta) and Ranjha’s(Avinesh Rekhi) lives have undoubtedly struck a chord with the viewers while the constant twists and turns have kept the curiosity alive. In the recent episodes, the viewers got to watch how Jaranil (Manoj Chandila) passes away after meeting with an accident, and Teji (Monika Khanna) is heartbroken.

In the upcoming episodes, it will be interesting for the audience to see how this tragedy will turn Atwal’s life upside down, especially Teji’s, as she has to raise her two kids without their father. While Teji is going through turmoil in her life, Monika amidst her hectic shoot schedule manages to take out time for this new hobby. Monika who isn’t an avid reader, is now taking out time to read some books on the set to develop it into a habit. In fact, along with English, she chooses Hindi language novels too, as she believes it helps her transcend her dialogue delivery and stay connected to her roots.

Monika said, “Since I am not an avid reader, I am getting into this habit of reading on a daily basis. I also have this mini collection of books, and I make sure that when I am travelling or when I am alone, or when I just want to be by myself and not do anything, I am reading my favorites. Right now I am reading a book called ‘The Laws of Human Nature’ by Robert Greene, which is a very precious gift that my co-star, a total bookworm, Manoj Chandila has given to me. I am someone who likes to read books that have a lot of wisdom in them about life, which talk about humans, feelings, and the spirit world. I remember the first book I ever read was ‘The Power of Positive Thinking’.

She added, “I think books help you nurture yourself in a lot of different ways. Since I have started reading loudly, I have noticed that my speech has become crystal clear, you will understand every word properly when I talk. When I deliver my dialogues you will come to know I am not rushing while saying them, I make sure to complete each and every word. I think when you read books, you learn a lot of things, it makes you wiser and that really helps you in life and improves you as a human being.”

Well, while Monika is revitalizing her reading habit, wait till you watch how Teji will turn Ranjha and Heer’s life upside down after asking Ranjha to marry her. Will Ranjha agree to do so? Or Will he express his love for Heer and decline Teji’s proposal?
