Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh’s leading lady Kiara Advani was not the first choice, it was THIS actress

MUMBAI: Kabir Singh was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2019. The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani for the first time and their chemistry was loved by all. The film’s obsessive lover subject and a few controversial scenes took the film to new heights. However, did you know that Kiara Advani was not the first choice for the film?

You heard that right! Another well known actress was approached for the role of Preeti in Kabir Singh. The actress we are talking about is none other than Manushi Chhillar. The actress has recently confirmed that she rejected the role due to prior commitments. In fact in another interview, Manushi even revealed that she would have loved to do the role of Rashmika Mandanna in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal too. She said, “I love him (Sandeep Reddy Vanga). See, both are really interesting roles (Rashmika Mandanna's and Triptii Dimri's characters). But I loved Rashmika's character because, in this whole world where men were fighting each other, she really stood her ground.”

Kabir Singh was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and made on a budget of Rs 35 crore. The film made Rs 377 crore worldwide.

On the work front, Manushi was last seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and will next be seen in Tehran with John Abraham.
