In an exclusive interview with Aayush Sharma prior to the release of his film, Ruslaan, in theaters, the promising actor finally bared his heart out about people debating whether he gets films on merit or due to Salman Khan, and if such chatter bothers him any longer.

Sonali Bendre said, “Everything has a way of working. What story you could tell in a movie in like 2 hours or 2 and a half hours, here you’re telling it over a period of time. So definitely there’s more that you can explore where the characters are concern and then you get to do season 2 you can explore it further and that is amazing. I don’t come from a theatre background but I think a lot of times people who come from theatre backgrounds they live their characters longer because they do show after show and again and again and they explore it in different ways. So that’s a luxury that I’ve not had. Also I don’t really think I’m cut-out for it. I did try theatre once but for me, I come from the school where after I’m done I want to move on from that character and look for another one. It’s not something that I want to revisit it. So hence, in this kind of a setting, I do a series so I get the longer time and now I have to revisit that and I’m like ‘Am I gonna enjoy that or not?’ and I’ll be very honest with you until the script came to me I was still in that situation that maybe I’m not gonna enjoy it and maybe I might not be okay with this but they came to me with a script that just had to be made and I mean had to come back in a season 2 and had to do what she was doing, rather had to go through what she had to go through and we needed to know more about Dipankar and I think that is what this season does. In this season you go deeper into these characters and have many more new characters like with Akshay coming in which you know kind of flips these characters in certain ways and you know just turns thing over their own head that time. So that is what really brought me back into this.”

This was our conversation with Sonali Bendre for his upcoming OTT series The Broken News Season 2.
