Sunidhi Chauhan stated in an interview with the popular news portal, “I was performing my second last song and the crowd was having a blast. They were hurling bottles in the air and one fell on the stage as it had water in it. When I said, ‘Yeh kya ho raha hai? Show ruk jayega,’ so they responded sweetly, ‘No, please don’t’. The kids were just having fun.”

Recalling the incident, Sunidhi mentioned that the bottle hit her microphone. She added, “Of course, if the mic was closer to my mouth, I could have got hurt and would have perhaps responded differently.” She also added, “Having said that, I am aware of some instances from the past when people deliberately misbehaved with the performers and threw things at them, aur woh galat hai. I strictly condemn that.”

For the unversed, a viral video shows singer Sunidhi Chauhan’s reaction after someone in the audience hurled a water bottle at her while she was performing. The bottle landed right next to her and she was noticeably startled. She stopped singing and asked the audience, “Yeh kya ho raha hai? Bottle phekne se kya hoga? Show ruk jayega. Do you want that?”

According to sources, Sunidhi Chauhan attended the annual Zenith 2024 festival held by Shri Guru Ram Rai University. She was almost hit by a bottle while singing one of her most well-known songs. After being posted to Instagram on May 3, the video received 3 million views in a short period. In addition, it has received numerous comments and over 60,000 likes.

Netizens rushed to the comment area as soon as they saw the video. Conversations centered around the video also addressed how annoying and challenging such audience behavior could be for the performers. Such insensitive behavior might make artists question their relationship with their audience in addition to creating emotional distress. Because Sunidhi refused to leave the program and her management of the matter, fans also referred to her as their queen.
