Murder in Mahim: Ashutosh Rana speaks about the surge in popularity of the crime genre; Says ‘transcending the realm of black and white’

MUMBAI: On May 10, JioCinema is going to release "Murder in Mahim," another of its original series. Vijay Raaz and Ashutosh Rana play key parts in the much-awaited psychological thriller. The show is a satire of society that delves into Mumbai's underbelly and a terrifying murder mystery, with a particular focus on the reunion of a broken friendship between Peter (Ashutosh Rana) and Jende (Vijay Raaz).

Regarding the increasing interest of crime genres, Ashutosh stated, “I've noticed a surge in the popularity of crime genres and murder mysteries among Indian audiences. It serves as an escape for viewers to immerse themselves in complex narratives and characters, transcending the realm of black and white. I'm honored to portray some iconic characters that, while not necessarily be influential, but will still resonate strongly with audiences.”

The captivating series is directed by Raj Acharya and created by Tipping Point Films. It is based on a highly regarded novel by author Jerry Pinto. It also has two highly skilled actors in key parts: Shivaji Satam and Shivani Raghuvanshi.
