MUMBAI : The town was abuzz when Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Gurucharan Singh abruptly vanished from Delhi, India, on April 22, 2024. A little over a week later, the actor went back to his house. As of right now, the actor has not disclosed the reasons behind his extreme decision, nor have the police or his family offered any insight.
Reacting to why he abruptly vanished, and without telling his parents, the actor has revealed that, opposed to certain stories, he intended to follow a spiritual path and cut himself off from the world.
In an interview with the popular news portal, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Gurucharan Singh finally spoke out when asked about his sudden disappearance. He said that he is currently waiting for all judicial proceedings to conclude, even if he didn't reveal many details. The actor declared he would discuss his reasons for making such a drastic decision after the court case is over.
He stated that while all his formalities are done, his father has to visit the court to complete the pending formalities. He states that his health is fine now and he just needs the court proceedings to complete before he can open up about his sudden disappearance.
On April 22, 2024, Gurucharan Singh was scheduled to take a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. When his parents discovered their son had not arrived in Mumbai and had not boarded the plane, they became extremely anxious. When they tried to call him, his phone was switched off.
The actor's father eventually submitted a missing report (FIR) on April 26, 2024. After the police began their inquiry, they discovered that the actor had turned off his phone on purpose and that there may not have been a kidnapping; instead, the actor may have been taken as per his wish.
When the actor eventually made it return to his house after going missing for about 25 days, he revealed that he had abruptly vanished because he wanted to follow a spiritual path.
