The actor we are talking about had appeared  in numerous unimportant films while he searched for a leading man part that would suit him. Having contributed to more than 600 films, his daughter is currently regarded as one of Hindi Film Industry’s  leading ladies. He is Shakti Kapoor, that's for sure.

Sunil Kapoor, the father of Shakti Kapoor, was a clothing merchant in Connaught Place when he was born in Delhi. Despite his father's wishes for him to become a tailor, he chose to pursue his acting career and become the star in a movie. After seeing the 1977 film Khel Khilari Ka, which starred Darmendra and Hema Malini, he began his career in the Hindi film industry and took on a few bit parts to make ends meet.

But he had an automobile accident that altered his life. Shakti Kapoor spent his first salary from an advertisement to purchase a car for himself. A Mercedes struck his car while he was driving, seriously damaging it. He disclosed in an interview, "I was driving my Fiat on Bandra’s Linking Road when a Mercedes, in an attempt to overtake, rammed into my car, and my car moved to a corner.”

Angry Shakti Kapoor wants to confront the owner and reveal what happened next. Following the same, he said, "The moment the car’s door opened, I saw the person who was driving the Mercedes was none other than Feroz Khan. All my anger vanished looking at him, and I told him that I am an actor and I requested him to give me a chance in films. He said, ‘Ya, ya will see. What have you done to my car?’ and left. There was a crowd that gathered to see him.”

Later that day, the actor went to writer KK Shukla's house who told him that he had suggested his name for a film but Feroz Khan is stubborn to cast the person he had an accident with as villain in his movie. KK Shukla told him, "Feroz Khan got scared, and he thought he would hit him. I want a villain like him who can scare people. He said I want that guy.” After hearing this, Shakti Kapoor told KK Shukla that Feroz Khan had an accident with him, and that's how he got his big break.

Shakti Kapoor played an antagonist in Feroz Khan's Qurbaani, which was a box office hit. His next films, Hero, Himmatwala, and Rocky, made him a well-liked antagonist. Later in the 1990s, he transitioned to comedic roles, appearing as a comedian in a number of successful movies, including Batuknath in ChaalBaaz, Inspector Bhinde in Insaaf, Prasad in Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, Crime Master Gogo in Andaz Apna Apna, and Goonga in Bol Radha Bol.

The actor rose to fame in the 1990s, but he was never able to save the day. After his final successful role in Main Tera Hero, the actor went on to star in 21 consecutive flops, including Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, Mumbai Can Dance Salaa, Love U Crazy Girl, and 2 Chehre, before quitting acting in 2020. The actor hasn't been in a movie for the past four years.

Shakti Kapoor reportedly has a net worth of Rs 225 crore and continues to lead an opulent lifestyle. With movies like Aashiqui 2, Stree, and Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, his daughter Shraddha Kapoor is currently dominating the box office. She will soon be seen in the much awaited Stree 2 sequel.
