MUMBAI: Sunita William an Indian-originated astronaut flew to space, in history for the third time, on Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. Well as Sunita does her space explorations, there have been many Hindi astronomical movies that have shown the dimension of the space in a unique manner.
Koi Mil Gaya
We all loved this film that had Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, and Rekha. The story is about Rohit a young boy who finds out about his dad's scientific equipment and connects with an alien planet. Due to his unintentional approach a spaceship lands leaving behind Jaadu who Rohit finds. He along with his friends protects their new buddy and Jaadu in return gives superman qualities to Rohit.
Zero
The film had Bauua Singh aka Shah Rukh Khan, a dwarf from Meerut who finds love in Aafia a NASR scientist who has Cerebral Palsy. When Bauua reaches Mars, he sends a cute recording to Aafia and apparently his rocket is lost in space but in the end, he is shown to be alive.
Mission Mangal
The stellar cast in the film included Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, and Nithya Menen who showed India's biggest space mission. The film is about scientists who work towards making the Mars Orbiter Mission successful.
Rocketry- The Nambi Effect
R. Madhavan's film is the story of Nambi Narayanan who is an Indian aerospace engineer and has made significant milestone progress and achievements in Indian space research. Nambi is a legendary genius himself, the movie is a tribute to Nambi and to others who got a change in India. Nambi Narayanan (original), Suriya, and Shah Rukh Khan made a special appearance in the film.
Antariksham 9000 KMPH
The Telugu movie had Varun Tej and Aditi Rao Hydari, and was about Dev a retired astronaut who is taken for an important mission, where he has to repair a satellite, which if not done could blackout communication of the entire world.
