MUMBAI: Tragically, 37-year-old actress and former air hostess Noor Malabika Das took her own life. On June 6, her body was found in her Lokhandwala, Mumbai, apartment. She hanged herself from the bedroom fan, according to Midday. When nearby residents detected an unpleasant stench coming from the apartment and informed the Oshiwara police, the matter became public.

Police broke down the door to go into the apartment and discovered Noor's lifeless body dangling from the ceiling fan. Police gathered prescription drugs, her cell phone, and a journal from the residence during their search. The precise cause of the death is still a mystery, though.
The body was taken to the Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon for the post-mortem. Her relatives were contacted, but none of them came forward. Reports state that on June 9, the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, which is in charge of cremating unclaimed dead in the city, assisted the police in performing her last rites.
An official said, “We contacted her family, who had returned to their native place two weeks ago. Investigations are ongoing.”
Assamese-born Das, 37, had starred in many Hindi films, including Teekhi Chatni, Siskiyaan, Walkaman, Charamsukh, Jaghanya Upaya, Dekhi Andekhi, Backrod Hustale, and more, through the Ullu app and web series. Jisshu Sengupta and Kajol are featured in her upcoming production, The Good Wife, which will air on Amazon Prime.
