MUMBAI: Abhishek Kumar has left everyone too emotional with his cryptic post on the death anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput. The Bigg Boss 17 runner-up posted a heartfelt tribute to SSR on his X (formerly known as Twitter) page at midnight on June 14. He wrote, "Bhala tujhe aaj bhi kon bhool paaya hai."

In response to Abhishek's note, several SSR fans remembered the late actor. “14 th june Ajj vi yekin nahi hota ssr nahi hain,” one of the fans wrote. “Miss you sushant love you ak,” added another. “It’s for #SushantSinghRajput. We all miss him abhishek,” a third comment read.

Abhishek Kumar talks about SSR frequently. He used to question his fellow contestant Ankita Lokhande about the late actor during his time on Bigg Boss 17. Kumar recently disclosed in a podcast interview with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa how Sushant Singh Rajput's death has had a profound impact on his father.

“When my mother came into the Bigg Boss house, I was completely shattered. I told her how difficult it was but they supported me in the journey. However, my father got quite scared. He still gets anxious even if I am clearing my throat he rushes to Mumbai to check on me. The reason is that he has been very affected after Sushant sir’s demise. He feels that I am growing but I shouldn’t take any such step,” Abhishek said.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. While some suspected to be a case of death by suicide, others had alleged foul play. His sister has been fighting for justice ever since.

In April this year, SSR’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti launched an online campaign to seek justice for her brother’s death. She announced ‘Nany 4 SSR Jan Andolan’. As a part of this campaign, Shweta urged everyone to tie a red cloth on their wrist or forehead, post the video on social media and request agencies to give justice to the late actor.

In March, Shweta released a video message, requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the CBI investigation into her actor-brother's death. She mentioned that it has been 45 months since her brother's death, yet they have not received any new information from the investigative agency. Shweta urged that Prime Minister Modi's intervention will not only fasten the investigation but also offer relief to “howling hearts”.

“Namastey. I am Shweta Singh Kirti. I am Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister. I am recording this message for our Prime Minister Modi ji. I wanted to bring to your attention that this is the 45th month of Bhai’s passing away and we still don’t know any updates on the investigation that is being conducted by the CBI. I would highly request your intervention into the matter because as a family and as a country, we are grappling with so many answered questions in this case,” she said.
