MUMBAI: The biggest compliment for director-actor Raghav Kansal is that people want to see more of his series, A Day In Our Lives. The series, which is streaming on MX Player, has been loved by the audience, he says.
“It’s a positive response from the audiences and they want more of the show. I take that as the biggest compliment. There was a small preview of the show and people started crying in the finale,” he says.
He has also acted in the series. Talking about his role in the series, he says, “The character is somewhat like me, and while playing it, I always used to tell myself that I just need to be myself. The great thing is that I was surrounded by a lot of good actors, and so looking at their craft, gave me the desired motivation,” he says.
He adds, “While creating this character, I always imagined myself as Armaan. There is a lot to come but Armaan would always be my personal favourite.”
Filming the series wasn’t that easy, says the director-actor. “The biggest challenge was the shoot location, we were supposed to shoot at a different location but, at the last minute, it got cancelled. We had to face certain limitations as there was no real electricity available there, only generators were working. But we, the whole team, was working towards creating something bigger than themselves and magic happened!” he says.
Meanwhile, he says that he has always loved directing. “Direction is something which comes naturally to me and I try to live up to the word director as the whole team puts their faith in your vision. The whole cast delivered a remarkable performance, I can’t pinpoint any single one. It was our last day of the shoot and we were supposed to shoot the finale sequence at the railway station but due to circumstances again, we had to change the location and the whole crew and cast started laughing like hell at that point in time! The faith and belief among the team was that we can pull off anything together and you could see it in everyone’s eyes,” he says.
