MUMBAI: The candidness Ranbir Kapoor had in his most recent conversation with Nikhil Kamath has sparked a lot of reaction. While some are applauding him for being genuine, others are challenging his opinions and statements. The Barfi actor opened up about nearly every aspect of his life.

Rishi Kapoor sent Ranbir Kapoor abroad to finish his education since he was being too noticed. Following his return to India, the Tamasha actor decided to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali to seek mentorship and learn about the art of filmmaking. The actor calls his training with Bhansali a "idea film school."

Kapoor wondered why Bhansali is not offering him a movie, considering that almost every filmmaker wants to launch him. Therefore, he prepared a resume and proceeded to SLB's office in search of work. Upon meeting Sanjay, the actor praised his recently released film Devdas, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

When Ranbir Kapoor met Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director expressed his interest in doing a movie with him. However, before their movie collaboration, the Rockstar actor worked with Bhansali, assisting him on the sets of Black, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Ranbir told Nikhil that Bhansali was a task master. They were working on the sets for 14–15 hours a day.

The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor also disclosed that he had ten assistants and wasn't given preferential treatment only because he is Ranbir Kapoor.

According to the actor, there was a lot of anger directed towards them by the director of Gangubai Kathiawadi, who's got short-tempered. According to Kapoor, it was this aspect of Bhansali that toughened and equipped him for everything that life would throw at him.

Later, in 2007, Saawariya directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, marked Ranbir Kapoor's Bollywood debut. Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam Kapoor made her debut in the movie as well.

Following that, Ranbir never collaborated with SLB because the two were supposedly not friendly. Fourteen years later, RK and SLB are working together once again on the romantic thriller film Love & War. Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt also feature in the movie, which is set for release in 2025.
