MUMBAI: Vijay Raaz is one of the most talented and sought after actors in the Hindi film industry. The actor has now opened up about his struggles but yet would not call it real struggles. The actor has been part of blockbusters like Dhamal, Stree, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Delhi Belly, Dream Girl, among many others.

Vijay told a news portal, “Real struggle is when a security guard who makes Rs 12,000 a month has to feed a family of four. He doesn’t want to be a security guard, but he’s doing it because he has to. Not everybody gets the option to choose their path. Less than 1% of people get this choice. This is a privilege, it’s not a struggle. For instance, if you want to be an actor and are working towards it, regardless of whether you’re succeeding or not, you’re doing what you want to do.”

He further said, “I see this as a privilege. How can this be a struggle?” Asked if he sees being strapped for cash as a struggle, Vijay said, “That’s a phase. Life is a struggle. Your desires are a struggle. You have a bicycle but you want a car… I don’t believe in these things.” Vijay said that to him, success has a different meaning than how others might perceive it. “Society would normally equate success with how many houses one has, or cars, or how reputed they are. To me, if you are not at peace, you are unsuccessful, regardless of where you stand. If your are at peace, you are successful, even if you haven’t achieved anything in society’s eye.”

Vijay also mentioned how there were days when he did not have enough food but he didn’t feel a need to complain. He said, “Jab khaane ko utna nahi hota tha, main tab bhi mauj mein tha. Main bhawishya ko itna dekhta nahi hoon, main utna kaabil nahi hoon. Shayad isliye main utni bechaini ikkatthi nahi kar paata.”

Vijay was last seen in the series ‘Murder in Mahim’
