Regarding their custody arrangement, Ranvir stated that Haroon splits their time evenly in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. He claimed that his son's upcoming vacation with Konkona was one of the factors in his decision to compete in the reality show Bigg Boss. Refusing to acknowledge having ever called himself a "great father but terrible husband," Ranvir recounted how Haroon splits his time between them.

Ranvir revealed, “If we’re both in town, he spends one week at a time with each of us; if she’s travelling on work, then I stay with him, I’m travelling for work, she stays here.”

He added, “He’s managed quite well… We might not have been able to give him a single loving home, but we have managed to give him a single loving neighbourhood. She lives only 100 metres down, and there’s a park between nearby, so the transition is quite seamless for him. We’ve tried our best to not make it heavy on him, the moving… It seems like one seamless move from one house to the other.”
