MUMBAI: Madhuri Dixit is one of the most renowned actors of the Indian film industry. She has been loved for her performances and dance numbers over the years. She along with choreographer Saroj Khan gave us many memorable songs.

Recently during a fans meet event at her USA tour, Madhuri opened up about her bond with Khan. She said, “Guru-shishya bond with Saroj ji was very special because of her art. I used to love the way she used to picturize a song and her dance movements. We had pledged that we will do a lot of songs together but I want every song to be unique. That is how she came up with hook steps. She used to say, people will connect automatically with the steps.”
She added, “Then sometimes she used to say, ‘why did I agree with you for that because I used to remember every step. Whenever steps got repeated, I used to tell ‘Saroj ji arre we used this in this song’ and she was like ‘baap re tu hathi ki tarah memory rakhti hai aur ab main pareshan ho gayi hun’, (laughs).”
On the ocassion of completing 40 years in teh industry, Madhuri is on a US tour. She added by saying, “She used to come up with so many beautiful dance numbers. The way she used to choreograph, the way she was, I mean she used to shout or whatever used to happen, I used to love her because of her art and how she was a woman in a man’s world. She was the first woman choreographer who made it to the top and I had a lot of respect for that.”
Getting teary eyed, the Dhak Dhak girl concluded, “She used to say you are like my daughter on the sets, so don't worry about anything. Yes, I really miss her.”
