The project titled ‘Border 2’ will see Varun joining forces with Sunny Deol, who played a pivotal role in the original. According to the popular news portal, filming for the movie is expected to start in November 2024.

“Border franchise holds a special place in the heart of the audience, and the casting of Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan in the sequel is sure to elevate the appeal even further,” the source added. In November 2024, Border 2 is expected to go on floors. After Baby John's December release, Varun is probably going to join the shoot.

Ayushmann Khurrana had once been slated for a role in the movie but has now left. Ayushmann has reportedly been in discussions with the makers of Border 2 for quite some time.

He reportedly received an opportunity to star in the film as an army jawan. He later withdrew from the project as he was unsure about joining an ensemble that Sunny Deol was leading.

Sunny Deol already revealed the release date for Border 2, the biggest war movie in India. He posted the footage on his social media accounts. It quickly became viral, and fans could be seen responding to it. It should be noted that Border was published on June 13, 1997. It has been 27 years today.
