“I'll make sure Ranbir Kapoor sees your act” says Karisma Kapoor to contestant Akanksha Mishra aka Akina on ‘India’s Best Dancer – Season 4’

MUMBAI : This weekend, Sony Entertainment Television's homegrown dance reality show, 'India's Best Dancer - Season 4,' will welcome ace choreographer and dance maestro Remo D’Souza for an episodes themed, ‘Best Foot Forward.’ Joining the special episodes alongside our ‘E.N.T’ specialists- Karisma Kapoor, Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis, the contestants are all geared up to leave an impressive mark with their power-packed dance moves! As the competition heats up, the contestants will give it their all to secure their place in the show and continue their journey to become ‘India's Best Dancer.’

Impressing the judges with a flawless performance will be Lucknow’s Akanksha Mishra aka Akina, along with her choreographer Subhranil Paul. The duo magnificently recreate the iconic character of ‘Murphy’ aka ‘Barfi’ and ‘Jhilmil Chatterjee’ portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra respectively from the film ‘Barfi’ as they perform on the song ‘Aaoge Jab Tum.’

Mesmerised by their performance judge Karisma Kapoor said, “Akina and Subhranil, I don't have words to describe how I'm feeling. Honestly, I'm at a loss for words, but I have to say, Subhranil, the way you've trained Akina and how she performed is remarkable. Akina, you're not just a dancer or performer, you're an ‘asli kalakar’, a true artist! Have you ever considered doing theatre instead of dance? With your mannerisms, acting, performance, body language, and dance, the way you've presented today, you belong on stage. You should be performing in shows. You have that special quality, and I think this is just the beginning. You two complement each other so well – you're a perfect pair. Since this act was inspired by Barfi, I'll make sure Ranbir Kapoor sees it. I'll personally show it to him."

Adding on to the compliment special guest Remo D’Souza will go on to say, “Akina and Subhranil, you guys showcased an entire movie in 3 minutes. And Akina, I want to tell you that it’s very difficult to hold on to a character and perform. Because as a dancer or performer we are used to dancing in a certain way and we forget the steps; but you didn’t leave anything. You were fantastic... you were outstanding. Subhranil what a choreography, amazing! There are certain performances that make you go numb and some that make you get up and applause, this performance deserved both.”

Furthermore, Remo D’Souza will go on to put a ‘Kala Teeka’ on Akina’s forehead.

This weekend, tune in to the ‘Best Foot Forward’ episodes of ‘India’s Best Dancer – Season 4’ at 8:00 PM on Sony Entertainment Television
