MUMBAI: It was only recently that we reported that Pandya Store actor Mohit Parmar took to his social media handle to report a fake casting alert.
He shared that the fake casting director targeted actresses in the name of work and was running a casting couch. Mohit mentioned his friend Prerna Thakur who was targeted and was quick to alert his industry friends and colleagues through his social media handle. (Also Read: EXCLUSIVE! Well, now actress Pallavi Rao, who was seen in Pandya Store shared her experience of falling victim to the same.
She shared, “I have experienced casting couch, I was very young at that time. Is this not new ,it’s been happening but I’m glad and thankful to God that after that incident I always worked with the best of the people and clean people. I have seen my co-stars standing for each other. I have witnessed some incidents on my sets but then I have realised one thing: you have to stand up for yourself first, you have to be vocal then others will support you.”
She further added, “What I have seen all these years is that thousands of young girls and guys coming from small town or villages they are smitten by the glamour in the industry as well as life in Mumbai till they come here live here and face the real world, they are stuck can’t go back want to prove to the families and for days and months they keep running to crack on audition
I strongly feel how they function and set up their lives depends on their background. Some have parents support, some are financially strong or stable and some those lost birds they don't know where to settle and how to settle.Frankly speaking I think it’s just a matter of your choice. Sometimes it’s just about survival. I would just like to tell aspiring talents that success is about hard work and ofcourse luck giving in might not get you success if you have zero talents.” (Also Read: Pallavi Rao enjoys her daring stunt acts in Diya Aur Baati Hum as her track comes to an end)
