MUMBAI: We previously revealed that Himanshi Parashar, who last appeared in Teri Meri Doriyaann, was being seriously considered for the main part in Maddam Sir - Kuchh Baat Hai Kyunki Jazbaat Hai's second season. It has now been revealed that a well-known actress will be appearing in the second season. The cast of Maddam Sir has recast Aasiya Kazi, who was last seen as the antagonist in Janam Janam Ka Saath, as a police officer.

A source close to the show revealed, “Recreating the success of the first season is a huge responsibility, and the production house is leaving no stone unturned to finalise a cast of talented performers, who can connect with the audience right away. Aasiya is the latest addition to the principal cast and will play a pivotal role.”

Aasiya's long-held goal of playing an action role has finally materialized with her most recent project. She told us about her desire to play an action role on screen around a year ago. The actress, who rose to fame as Santo in Bandini, reflected on her professional path and explained why she had become discriminating. She said, "There was a gap because I had become selective and also, I was not getting the kind of roles I wanted. After Balika Vadhu, I received many offers to play older characters, but I turned them down. In fact, when Tenali Rama went in for a time leap, a lot of people dissuaded me against playing an older character. But, I took it up because I was getting a chance to explore the comedy genre for the first time. Fortunately, the decision to introduce the time leap was eventually scrapped. While I know that I can’t be the lead in every show, I look out for performance-oriented roles. I have been part of good shows that have showcased my versatility. I have played negative, positive and comic characters. Now, I would like to take up an action role.”
