MUMBAI: The 12th Edition of the prestigious South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is all set to take place at the iconic Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on the 14th and 15th of September 2024. This grand event, which has become a global celebration of South Indian cinema, will see the presentation of 20 awards in each of the four South Indian languages, honouring the finest talent in the industry.
The two-day extravaganza promises not just to celebrate cinematic excellence but also to pay tribute to some of the most legendary figures in South Indian cinema. On the 14th of September, SIIMA will commemorate 50 years of cinematic brilliance of two stalwarts, Sri Nandamuri Balakrishna and Shivrajkumar. Both legends, who debuted as child artists in 1974, continue to reign supreme in the hearts of their fans. This special celebration will be a highlight of the evening, marking their incredible contributions to the film industry.
On the 15th of September, SIIMA will honour the late Padmabhushan Sri Vijaykanth, fondly known as "Captain" by his fans and the entire Tamil film industry. This tribute will celebrate his remarkable career and the indelible mark he left on Indian cinema.
In addition to the awards and tributes, the event will feature electrifying performances by some of the biggest stars in South Indian cinema. The scintillating line-up includes Pooja Hegde, Andrea , Nidhi Agrewal, Shriya Saran, Avika Gor, Shanvi Srivastav, Neha Shetty, Faria Abdulla, and Ashok Galla, among many others. These performances are sure to add a vibrant and energetic touch to the grand occasion.
