MUMBAI : Fardeen F. Khan and Riteish Deshmukh have reunited for Visfot, seventeen years after Heyy Baby. The story of the movie is about two individuals from different socioeconomic origins whose lives cross paths on a fateful day, although the setting is far from comedy. Fardeen discusses it in a conversation with the popular news portal.

“I know Riteish very, very well. There’s a lot of comfort, trust, and respect between us. We both have a reasonable amount of experience under our belts, so it’s easier for us to slip into our characters as part of any story."

Fardeen also got to see a new side of Riteish while working on Visfot. “Riteish is naturally very funny. But I was on Bigg Boss Marathi recently with Riteish while promoting Khel Khel Mein, and I saw a completely different side of him that took me by surprise. I saw him scolding one of the participants (laughs). I had never seen that side of him before. Visfot too brings out a different aspect of Riteish’s nature," he shares.

Lauding Riteish’s work in the film, Fardeen says, “He has done so amazingly well. The depth and honesty with which he has portrayed the emotions in the film are brilliant. His role is really complex, and he has executed it masterfully. It’s going to be one of his standout performances." Up next, the duo will return to comedy with Housefull 5.

After 14 years away from Bollywood, Fardeen returned with Heeramandi earlier this year. Expressing his excitement when he states, “I feel very lucky to return at a time when such diverse, relevant, and sophisticated content is being written. These back-to-back releases weren’t planned by me. I wish I had the power to do so (laughs)! It just happened this way, and for the best. Sometimes you have to surrender to the process and focus on what’s within your control."

Fardeen sees a benefit to his break since it will allow him to return to his work ‘free of any baggage.’ He added, “After a 12-year break, I’m returning without too much baggage. I’m older now, and I came back with the mentality of a newcomer. I wasn’t sure what I would be offered, but I took roles that I believed would allow me to contribute to the narrative."

“With Heeramandi, I was told from the beginning that I would have nine scenes. In Khel Khel Mein, I had a supporting role. In Visfot, I’m a parallel lead alongside Riteish. I’m here to act and do interesting work. If a great, meaty part comes my way, I’ll grab it. If not, I’ll continue doing what I love—acting and being part of the storytelling process. I’m in a sweet spot," Fardeen concludes.
