Eva Grover breaks silence on her ‘abusive marriage’ with Aamir Khan’s step brother Hyder; Says, ‘I lost my daughter’

MUMBAI : Eva Grover has worked in the television business for more than 20 years. She has primarily performed in supporting parts; in Bade Acche Lagte Hai, she portrayed Ram Kapoor's mother. Although her professional life is well known, not many are aware that she was previously wed to Hyder Ali Khan, Aamir Khan's step-brother.

Eva talked openly about her turbulent marriage and how she lost custody of her kid in a recent interview. She recalled that her marriage ran into troubled waters while professionally she was doing great. She said, “But that was not just what I wanted, I wanted a home, a loving husband, and loving kids. I wanted to be a homemaker. But instead of achieving this dream of mine, I got everything else.”

Eva said she eloped and got married in 18 days but then realized things were not what she imagined. By day 4 of her marriage, Eva was asking herself, “If this is what marriage is, why does the institute even exist?”

Her efforts of trying to save her marriage turned futile. She said, “I guess he wasn’t mature enough to take that kind of responsibility. He was Aamir Khan’s stepbrother, he was a very different person from who I had dated. It was one of the most abusive marriages.”

Eva shockingly recalled that while shooting for a project, her mother gave away her 3 year old daughter to Hyder. When she returned home she was shocked not to find her. She said, “I lost my daughter and didn’t get to see her for 10 years. She now lives with her aunt. I meet her occasionally and have stayed with her.”
