MUMBAI : Actress Mukti Mohan, known for her roles in Life Hill Gayi, Gyaarah Gyaarah, Thar, and A Wedding Story, believes that the entertainment industry significantly contributes to both domestic and global tourism. Speaking on the occasion of World Tourism Day, observed on September 27, she said, “For audiences, films set in interesting locations have been influencing holiday destination choices for decades.”

“After watching Queen, I traveled solo to Italy for two weeks. It was one of the best trips of my life,” she added.

Mukti also mentioned that several films have boosted tourism for specific countries and cities. She feels viewers watch movies set in picturesque locations not only for entertainment but also to embark on a visual journey.

She said, “From Bombay to Goa to Dil Chahta Hai for Goa tourism, K3G for London, ZNMD for Spain, 3 Idiots for Leh, and Queen inspiring solo women travelers for France, all these films have enhanced tourism and given audiences the feeling of going on a journey.”
