MUMBAI: The wait is over, and the tides have shifted —today marks the arrival of 'Devara: Part 1', NTR Jr.'s long-awaited solo comeback after six years. The legend, affectionately known as man of masses sets sail into uncharted waters with this monumental release. With a story steeped in the mysteries of the sea, the action-drama promises to sweep audiences into a cinematic storm that only NTR Jr. can helm. Presented by Dharma Productions and AA Films in the North, the pan-India film has begun its conquest across shores in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Partnering once again with director Koratala Siva, the powerhouse duo behind 'Janatha Garage' is ready to create another tsunami at the box office. Siva’s signature blend of emotional depth and commercial appeal finds its perfect anchor in NTR Jr, who inspires fear instead of courage unlike a mainstream protagonist. Adding to the tempest is Bollywood heavyweight Saif Ali Khan, making his Telugu debut as the film’s antagonist, Bhaira. His portrayal of the lurking danger beneath the sea is deceptive, deadly, and striking when least expected.
On the flip side, Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in Telugu cinema alongside NTR Jr. has sent shockwaves through the industry. Their electric chemistry is the result of two film lineages coming together to create a force that's impossible to resist. Moreover, Anirudh Ravichander’s chart-topping music has already made waves across platforms, with tracks like 'Chuttamalle' and 'Davudi' priming the stage for a larger-than-life cinematic experience.
Ahead of its release, 'Devara: Part 1' made a global splash, having raked in a staggering ₹75 Cr in worldwide advance sales. In North America, pre-sales have surpassed $2.1M, while the UK and Australia have sold over 20K and 11K tickets, respectively.
