From some time, rumours were doing the rounds in film circles that Salman Khan would be appearing in Rajkumar Santoshi's directorial venture Phata Poster Nikla Hero but the news wasn’t confirmed. But, now it has been confirmed that Salman has indeed been roped in to play a cameo in the Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz starrer. It is said that ever since Santoshi worked with Salman Khan in his uproarious hit Andaz Apna Apna (released in 1994), the two have shared a special bond. May be that is the reason why Santoshi had Salman do a special appearance in his 2009 Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. On inquiry we found that Salman has indeed put up a guest appearance and has not done a full-fledged role. "Salman, however, will not be seen in a promotional video or an item song. He's not doing any song and dance routine, but will be seen in one of the interesting scenes in the film," the source added. Incidentally, Shahid will be sharing screen space with Salman for the first time. If that is not all, though only Salman Khan's name has been reported to play a cameo in the film, many other A-list actors would also be seen in interesting cameos in the project. "The director has his favourites. And he is seeing to it that he gets quite a few of them to make guest appearances in the film. It will be a surprise to spectators to see popular actors in Phata Poster Nikla Hero,” the source added. The movie releases on 20 September (2013) the world over.
