MUMBAI: Prime Video brings a wide variety of content for the audience this week.

Kadaisi Ulaga Por, translating to ‘The Last World War’, revolves around a new international organization called the Republic, formed by China, Russia, and 72 other countries, including India's neighbors, which leads to immense political upheaval in the world. The film follows Thamizharasan, an orphan from Tamil Nadu, India, who falls in love with Keerthana, the daughter of the Chief Minister. As Tamizh helps Keerthana navigate her political journey, they face numerous challenges from the Republic and internal political conspiracies. This experimental film combines action, drama, and romance, offering a unique perspective on a global crisis from a local viewpoint. Directed by Hiphop Tamizha Adhi, who also stars as the lead character of Thamizharasan (Tamizh) in the film that also features Anagha L.K., Nassar, Natarajan Subramaniam, Azhagam Perumal in pivotal roles. The Tamil drama is now streaming exclusively in India on Prime Video.

The Telugu comedy-drama Swag follows the life of SI Bhavabhuti, a police officer whose personal life takes an unexpected turn after separating from his wife. Seeking solace and a new beginning, he receives a letter informing him that, as a descendant of the Shwaganik dynasty, he is entitled to claim the family’s wealth. The film unfolds into a thrilling comedy as Bhavabhuti navigates the complexities of his situation and encounters a group of eccentric individuals. It delves into the themes of self-discovery, friendship, and redemption, offering a unique blend of comedy and suspense. Directed and written by Hasith Goli, the comedy movie features Sree Vishnu, Ritu Varma, Sunil in lead roles, along with  Meera Jasmine, Daksha Nagarkar, Ravi Babu, Getup Srinu, Goparaju Ramana and Saranya Pradeep in pivotal roles. The Tamil drama is now streaming exclusively worldwide on Prime Video.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza is a live-action adaptation with an original story based on SEGA’s global hit game franchise, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Released in 2005 by SEGA, the ‘Yakuza’ game series was positioned as an entertaining game for adults, which found massive fanfare amongst its target audience. The series depicts the lives of fierce yet passionate gangsters and people living in a huge entertainment district, Kamurochō, a fictional district modeled after the violent Shinjuku ward’s Kabukichō, that acts as the backdrop of the gameplay. Like a Dragon: Yakuza showcases modern Japan and the dramatic stories of these intense characters, such as the legendary Kazuma Kiryu, that games in the past have not been able to explore. Co-directed by Masaharu Take alongside Kengo Takimoto, the series stars Ryoma Takeuch Kento Kaku Munetaka Aoki Toshiaki Karasawa in lead roles. The Japanese Original Crime-Action series is now streaming on Prime Video.
