MUMBAI: India's iconic superhero, Shaktimaan, is back with a bang! Mukesh Khanna, the legendary actor who played the titular role, has made a comeback as Shaktimaan, this time as a singer. Khanna has launched a music video, "Katha Azaadi Ke Veeron Ki", which pays tribute to India's freedom struggle and its unsung heroes.
The song, released under Bhishma International, has garnered an overwhelming response on YouTube. The music video, skillfully directed by Samit Bansal, features Khanna as Shaktimaan, quizzing children about India's freedom fighters, including Jhansi Ki Rani, Shaheed Rajguru, Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Turram Khan. The energetic choreography by Pappu Khanna and captivating composition by Surya Rajkamal perfectly complement the song's patriotic spirit.
Khanna shared his experience, "I've been fighting for years to get martyr status for our freedom fighters through the 'Jai Hind Abhiyan.' Dipak Kumar Tripathi approached me with this beautiful, informative song. I loved the concept, 'Bujho ye krantikari kaun?' (Guess the freedom fighter?). I decided to record it, and it became a perfect blend of my voice and Shaktimaan's iconic costume."
Khanna emphasized the importance of such songs, "No medium is more effective than music to convey a message. This song will educate listeners about our freedom struggle and history." He plans to create a series of such songs to honor India's unsung heroes.
The music video is a tribute to over 300 freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's independence. Khanna's initiative aims to inspire the younger generation to learn about India's rich history and its brave freedom fighters.
