MUMBAI: Summing up Nayanthara’s journey, starting from scratch to achieving the label ‘The Lady Superstar’, the makers of ‘Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale’ released the trailer of the powerful documentary. While the fans loved it very much, Dhanush had some issues with it and sent a legal notice to Nayanthara.

Today, Nayanthara sent an open letter to Dhanush on social media where it was seen that even though they worked together in many movies, they don’t really share a good relationship as Nayanthara mentioned that Dhanush holds personal grudges against her. While it is clear that their differences have been for a long time, it seems like the last stroke was their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Thaan. While the movie starred Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara as leads, it was produced by Dhanush. The movie played a crucial role in Nayanthara’s career and is one of the most loved Nayanthara movies. As a part of Documentary which covers personal aspect of Nayanthara’s life, the makers wanted to feature the movie too but as we can see in the open letter, Dhanush had the rights and was not ready to let go or respond.
Since Dhanush did not allow parts of the movie to be used, the documentary featured behind-the-scenes clips of merely 3 seconds which were shot by their personal equipment but this led to a legal notice from Dhanush.
The reason why the movie matters to Nayanthara and her husband too is because it was on the sets of the movie that actress Nayanthara and director of the movie Vignesh fell in love. When the movie went over-budget, Dhanush predicted that the movie would fail at the box office but surprisingly the movie worked like a charm and this got Dhanush really upset.
