MUMBAI: The Kannada film Kantara, which starred Rishab Shetty in the lead role, is one of the biggest hits of 2022. The film was even directed by Rishab Shetty. Following the tremendous success of the Kannada version, the makers of Kantara decided to dub and release the film in a number of languages, including Hindi, which debuted in theatres on September 30, 2022.
The film's outstanding global gross collection reached the 400 Cr mark in 53 days, and its Hindi version brought in Rs. 79.25 Cr.
It’s been a while since the team of Kantara revealed their plans to create a prequel, at a lavish celebration which marked the completion of the film's 100 days of distribution.

The makers had revealed the first look of the movie which gave a goosebumps to the audience but the fans have been waiting for more updates ever since the official announcement, first look and teaser which looked really exciting. The movie will release in 7 languages.
Now after a lot of wait, finally there is some good news for the fans of Kantara.
Kantara: Chapter 1 release date has been locked and will release on 2nd October, 2025 (it’s going to be Gandhi Jayanti). As stated earlier, the movie will be released in 7 languages – Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and English.
Kantara was loved by the audience as it really had a never seen before storyline and Rishab Shetty really gave his best which made the audience fall in love with him too.
