MUMBAI : On World Television Day, &TV actors pay tribute to the Hindi television industry, acknowledging its significance in the entertainment world. They share personal reflections on what television means to them, including Neha Joshi (Krishna Devi Vajpayee, Atal), Smita Sable (Dhaniya, Bheema), Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Neha Joshi, who plays Krishna Devi Vajpayee in Atal, says, "I started my journey in theatre, but television has always held a special place in my heart. It is a powerful medium that reaches homes and hearts daily. Growing up, I would finish my chores in time to watch my favourite shows, including Marathi and Hindi dramas. Television is a unique platform that brings a new learning experience every day, allowing artists to connect closely with audiences. Today, as we mark World Television Day, I am grateful for the chance to be a part of this industry and for the recognition it has brought to Indian television.” Smita Sable, known for her role as Dhaniya in Bheema, shares, “On this World Television Day, I feel immense gratitude for my journey from Marathi to Hindi television. Marathi TV will always be my foundation, and transitioning to Hindi television has allowed me to connect with a larger audience, deepening my craft. Television has been a significant platform for personal and professional growth. I am thankful for the love from audiences, and I look forward to continuing my journey in this vibrant industry.”
Himani Shivpuri, who portrays Katori Amma in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, reflects, “While screen sizes have evolved, there are still devoted fans who continue watching their favourite stars on TV. Television gave me stability and has been an anchor during a challenging phase in my life. I have been fortunate to be part of some iconic shows throughout my acting career, which allowed me to connect with millions. Television has provided me with a career, income, and a sense of purpose. For that, I am eternally grateful.” Aasif Sheikh, beloved for his role as Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Seeing myself on TV in 1984 brought a whirlwind of emotions. TV has given me stability and helped me connect with viewers in a unique way. As part of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, I have played over five hundred characters, and each one has been a source of joy. My journey in television continues to be rewarding, and I look forward to exploring more roles. Kyunki picture abhi baki hai, mere dost!"
