MUMBAI : Manoj Bajpayee has time and again proven that he is a gem of Indian Cinema. His upcoming movie Despatch has been in the buzz for a while now. The movie will be a Zee5 original and was also screened in MAMI film festival where it got huge appreciation from viewers.
In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Manoj Bajpayee revealed what kind of movies he enjoys watching with his daughters and many more.
Manoj Bajpayee said, “The kind of films my daughter watches, I always revolt against it. So both of them have completely outcast me and I’m not that kind of a father woh is going to go through the ordeal of 2-2.5 hrs just to make her feel good. Pata nahi kya kya dekhte rehte hai dono, bohot der tak dekhte hai. Abhi haal filhal mein...Jai se yeh log Harry Potter kai baar dekh chuke hai. Aur maine shayad aadhi baar dekhi hogi. Ab main kya bolu. Bohot saare log gaali bhi denge mujhe lekin main relate hi nahi karta hu. Mujhe real dramas jo hai woh pasand aate hai toh jaise meri beti ne koi agar film meri bohot zyada pasand ki hai toh usne Banda jo hai 4 baar dekhi hai. 4 times and she loved it so much. Also because it is about a girl standing up against the powerful guy and she loves those empowered women’s stories. She just loves it. She’s 13 years old I think I have another feminist in my house.”
Manoj Bajpayee plays a journalist and when he was asked about what he discovered and found out about journalists and his perspective now looking at journalists, Manoj Bajpayee said, “...when it comes to human interactions, aap media wale kisi aur planet se nahi aaye hai, hum kisi dusre planet se nahi hai. Jo human interaction hai, woh same hota hai. Woh emotion same hota hai, woh conflict same hota hai, we are all the same human being and we are going through the same emotional conflict all the time, you can be a journalist, I can be an actor, utna hi fark hai lekin technical cheezo ke baare mein, jaise Despatch ke office mein jo interaction hai shuruwati daur ki, yeh sab cheeze aapke liye nai hoti hai kyuki maine kabhi kisi editor se jaake nahi bat ki hai aapke office mein. Woh editor ka kis tarah ka khauf rehta hai logo ke mann mein, uss editor ke kya kya aur pressure rehte hai, jo woh spell out karta hai. Kabhi kabhi woh bhi insecure hota hai. Woh chahta hai ki koi publication ke usool hai, ya principal hai, toh aap uske khilaf nahi jaa sakte. Kitna bada humare paas deadline hota hai yeh saari cheeze technical hai...”
