MUMBAI: Ustad Zakir Hussain, who is considered as one of the greatest tabla players of all time, has unfortunately passed away today. The Tabla maestro passed away at the age of 73 after he was hospitalized in San Francisco due to heart problems.
Hussain's manager has mentioned that he was having blood pressure issues. The Table maestro has won multiple awards, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India. He has also won three Grammy Awards, one of which was received at the 66th Grammy Awards this year.
In his professional journey that spanned for three decades, he has worked and collaborated numerous Indian and international artists.
