MUMBAI: Rajkummar Rao’s incredible run in 2024, with massive hits like Stree 2 and Srikanth, has solidified his place as one of Bollywood’s most versatile stars. But despite his commercial success, Rajkummar continues to prioritize his craft over fame, a mindset that has shaped his career from the very beginning. "I am an artiste, not a commodity. Being a film actor is all I’ve ever wanted since I was a kid, and now for me, it is just about having fun," said the actor in a recent interview, staying true to his passion for storytelling rather than the stardom.
While 2024 has been a milestone year for Rajkummar, with over ₹750 crore in box office earnings from four films, it’s clear that for him, success isn’t about the numbers. "We knew there were a lot of expectations from Stree 2, but for it to do the kind of business that it did was overwhelming," he shared as Stree 2 shattered records in Bollywood cinema.
"I have never felt satisfied as an actor, and I hope that I never do," he said, adding that his ambition is to keep exploring new genres and roles. With upcoming projects like Malik, an action-packed venture, Rajkummar is determined to push his limits and dive into new territories.
“Rajkummar, for me, is a key face of Bollywood 2.0,” says film critic Meenakshi Shedde to a business publication, highlighting how Rajkummar’s ability to seamlessly blend indie films with mainstream projects makes him a leader in a new era of cinema. Through his work, he’s not just breaking boundaries—he’s helping to redefine the very structure of the industry, all while staying true to his roots.
