Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya actress Sneha Wagh on Makar Sankranti: Flying kites on this day symbolizes taking our hopes to great heights

MUMBAI: It’s the day when we finally shout Kai Po Che! as kites soar high, celebrating Makar Sankranti. Sneha Wagh, who plays Chhathi Maiyya in Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, shares her love for this vibrant festival.

Expressing her excitement, Sneha said, "Makar Sankranti is considered a festival of sweetness, and keeping that in mind, I want to bring the sweetness of health and discipline into my life this New Year. Flying kites on this day symbolizes taking our hopes to great heights. This reminds me of how, during my childhood, my cousins never let me fly kites, and I would always end up handling the thread (laughs)."

She further added, "But now, I want to see my life soaring to those same heights while staying grounded at the same time. On this day, I plan to spend quality time with my family and enjoy good food. I think nothing could be better than that."

Sneha stepped into the role of Chhathi Maiyya, replacing Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who left the show to welcome her child. Known for her spiritual outlook, Sneha began her spiritual journey in 2016 or 2017. Speaking about it, she shared, "Over the past three to four years, this connection has grown significantly. Traveling to India’s authentic temples, immersing myself in their stories and teachings, and learning about their deeper significance has been transformative. I’ve explored temples tucked away in remote corners of the country—places that remain unknown to many. These journeys have helped me appreciate the immense cultural and spiritual wealth that India holds."

Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, airing at 7 PM, follows Vaishnavi (played by Brinda), an orphan who draws strength and comfort from her unwavering faith in Chhathi Maiyya, who acts as a motherly figure in her life. The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Sara Khan, Jaya Bhattacharya, Brinda Dahal, and Ashish Dixit.
