MUMBAI: Shrashti Maheshwari has returned to television with a bang, marking her comeback post-maternity break with Star Plus' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. TellyChakkar.com was the first to break the news of her casting. The talented actress plays Sandhya, Pari's sister-in-law—a simple, kind-hearted woman who lives in constant fear of her husband.

In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Shrashti opened up about how the show came into her life at a time when she was on the verge of making a life-altering decision. She revealed that she was all set to put her acting career on pause and move to the US to join her husband in his start-up venture.

Shrashti shared, "I had decided to leave for the US and join my husband’s firm. The tickets were already booked when I got a call for Kyunki.... Surprisingly, it was my husband Karan who was more excited than me. He encouraged me to grab the opportunity and reassess my plans. He knows that acting is my true passion, and he reminded me not to compromise on something that brings me happiness. It was a big opportunity, and he stood by me in choosing my career."

She also spoke candidly about the challenges she faced during her break. "After becoming a mother, I feel like I’ve bounced back stronger—physically and mentally. Honestly, I’ve never felt this fit. But I went through a rough phase too. I gave multiple auditions and was kept waiting endlessly. I started feeling that actors and their time weren’t being valued anymore. That thought made me consider stepping away from the industry altogether. Moving abroad felt like the right call back then—but just in time, I landed in Kyunki... and everything changed."

Indeed, sometimes life has its own perfect timing—and for Shrashti, the universe had something beautiful in store.
