MUMBAI: Divya Khosla, known for her work both as an actor and director, has carved a niche in Hindi cinema with films like Yaariyan and Sanam Re. Now, she returns to the spotlight with her latest release Ek Chatur Naar, co-starring Neil Nitin Mukesh.

In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar.com, Divya responded to her choice of projects and whether she is picking only hard-hitting and de-glam roles, as she played a similar role in Savi. Talking about the same, Divya said, "Honestly, you have to choose your projects from among the offers that you get. I'm so thankful to the makers who envisioned me in such characters. I feel it is difficult for any director to envision me in a character like this — someone who belongs to the slums, is UP-based, has a different accent than what I usually speak in, looks different, dresses differently, and even has different mannerisms."

She added, "So, I totally owe it to the director for thinking of me as an apt choice for the role. I am very fortunate and thankful that opportunities for movies like Savi and Ek Chatur Naar came my way. It is very coincidental that both the roles are de-glam."

Sharing more details about stepping into the character for Ek Chatur Naar, Divya revealed that in Savi, she didn’t use any make-up, while for her recent movie, she had to use make-up to look like a different, de-glammed version. She added that, at the end of the day, the viewers’ appreciation matters the most to her. She said, "I am very grateful that people loved me in Savi and now I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the success of Ek Chatur Naar."
