MUMBAI: Diwali, famously known as the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most beloved celebrations, symbolising the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
Across the country, homes and hearts are illuminated with the soft glow of diyas, intricate rangoli designs, and vibrant fireworks. Beyond the spectacle, the festival signifies new beginnings, reflection, and the strengthening of bonds among family and friends.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, Anupamaa actress Jaswir Kaur opened up about her Diwali plans and how the cast intends to celebrate the festive season on set.
“We had a card party yesterday, and today there’s another one at home,” Jaswir revealed. “I’m shooting, so I’ve asked everyone to organise the decorations, rangoli, and food with close friends and family. I’ll rush home after work and take over, but thankfully my husband and house help are taking care of most things.”
On the topic of bursting crackers, Jaswir explained, “I prefer a low-profile celebration. The noise disturbs my dogs, and with pollution and fire hazards, it’s safer to avoid them. Back when my dogs were young, they used to be scared, but now they’re used to it.”
When it comes to festive treats, she shared her love for traditional sweets: “I enjoy everything, but Indian sweets are my favourite. Even with international treats becoming popular, I’m glad the focus has returned to classic Indian delicacies.”
Talking about celebrations on set, she added, “We haven’t finalized anything yet, but today we’re performing puja and creating rangoli. Once the holidays begin, we’ll definitely plan something special.”
With her heartfelt approach to both family and on-set celebrations, Jaswir’s Diwali plans perfectly capture the warmth, joy, and togetherness that define the festival.
