Perfection Isn’t the Goal, Authenticity Is -Shivangi Verma

MUMBAI: For actor Shivangi Verma, who has worked in shows like Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor and Choti Sarrdaarni and is currently seen in the web series Yeh Hai Sanak  her heartfelt bond with her fans and how their support continues to shape her journey both personally and professionally. For Shivangi, the connection she shares with her audience is far deeper than admiration — it’s a reminder of purpose.“

The love from my fans truly keeps me going,” she says warmly. “It reminds me that my work resonates beyond just me. Knowing someone feels seen or inspired by what I do gives me a sense of purpose. I feel deeply grateful, and I try to carry their faith with me in every project,” she adds.

While fan appreciation fuels her, Shivangi admits that admiration can also bring its share of pressure. “Yes, the admiration fuels me, but it also brings a quiet pressure to stay true to myself and deliver honestly,” she explains. “I remind myself often that perfection isn’t the goal, authenticity is.” For her, the key to balance lies in staying grounded and nurturing her personal well-being off-screen.

Recalling a special moment, she shares, “I once met a young fan who told me that watching me perform gave her the confidence to speak up in her college class. That moment felt like a gentle validation; acting isn’t just entertainment, it can ripple into real lives.”

Talking about the shift from autographs to selfies, Shivangi feels it’s a natural change. “Selfies capture a shared moment, a connection in two frames,” she says. “What matters most is acknowledging their presence with respect.”

She fondly remembers another touching fan gesture — a scrapbook filled with handwritten notes. “I was genuinely moved and overwhelmed. It showed me how my art had become meaningful to someone else,” she shares.

Balancing fame and privacy, Shivangi concludes, “I love interacting with fans online, but I also make sure to switch off and spend time with family. That pause helps me stay authentic, so when I connect with fans, I’m truly present.”
