MUMBAI: The mythological fantasy thriller ‘Jatadhara’ has maintained its solid footing at the box office, showing remarkable stability on its second day of release. Despite facing stiff competition, the film collected ₹1.44 crore on Day 2, marking only a marginal dip from its ₹1.47 crore Day 1 opening.
With this consistent trend, Jatadhara’s two-day gross total stands at ₹2.91 crore, reflecting positive word of mouth and strong audience engagement across markets.
The film’s stability is particularly impressive given the competitive weekend line-up, as Jatadhara continues its box office battle with Rashmika Mandanna’s romantic drama ‘The Girlfriend’ and the Hindi release ‘Haq’.
In the Telugu markets, both ‘Jatadhara’ and ‘The Girlfriend’ are running neck-and-neck, drawing comparable footfalls and audience interest. However, trade observers note that Jatadhara has built a slightly stronger connect among mythological and fantasy lovers owing to its rooted storytelling and grand visuals.
The Hindi version of Jatadhara has also shown encouraging trends, registering ₹33 lakhs net on Day 2, with viewers praising its scale, emotion, and spiritual undertone.
What makes this performance stand out is that Jatadhara carries an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate, a factor that generally limits viewership. Yet, the film continues to attract steady footfalls, driven by its unique premise and positive audience feedback.
Producers attribute this encouraging response to the film’s authentic Indian mythological essence and emotional depth, which have connected well with both Telugu and Hindi audiences.
Trade insiders are calling Jatadhara a “steady performer with strong content appeal."
Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Prerna Arora, along with Umesh KR Bansal, Rajiv Agarwal, Shivin Narang, and Nikhil Nanda, Jatadhara stars Sudheer Babu as the enigmatic Shiva and Sonakshi Sinha in her impactful Telugu debut as Dhanapisachi.
With positive word of mouth and consistent growth across regions, Jatadhara is shaping up as one of the most stable releases of the season — reaffirming that good content finds its audience, competition or not.
